Trying to choose a destination to spend your summer vacation? Or you’re looking to find the best travel spot for your romantic getaway? The world is indeed a big place with many exotic destinations to discover. However, some places seem too good to be true that you want to pinch yourself to make sure you’re not dreaming. The Maldives is one of such places to visit this year and here are some of the reasons you should start planning your trip to this paradise.

Need a place to stay? Check out the luxury resorts in the Maldives.

The Free visa on arrival

Getting a visa can sometimes be stressful but you don’t have to worry because you don’t need a pre-arrival visa to enter into the Maldives as you can get a 30-day free Visa on Arrival. This offer is available to all nationalities provided you have a passport with at least six months validity, a ticket to continue the journey out of Maldives and a confirmation of reservation in a tourist resort.

The Island Life

An incredible holiday is one that affords you the opportunity to relax and unwind completely without any thought of work, and this is what you will get in the Maldives. There’s a no-shoe, no-news policy to help you disconnect from real life and enjoy the good life. So get ready for some serious relaxation and prepare to enjoy some delicious food whenever you visit the Maldives.

The Privacy and Luxury

Unlike other destinations, the Maldives is more than just one island but a collection of over 1200 islands that makes up 26 ring-shaped atolls. With such a vast number of islands, you can make rent an entire one for yourself to enjoy the privacy and luxury you desire. It’s the perfect way to create your world by leaving the rest of the world behind for a while.

The Culinary Experience

The Maldives may be envied because of its marine life and palm-fringed beaches, but very few people know of the local cuisine. Pleasing every visitor can be a difficult goal to achieve, but the culinary experience in the Maldives caters to all tastes and dietary requirements. There are a plethora of dishes worth checking out like the Mashuni Roshi (consisting of tuna, coconut and chilli), Kulhi borkibaa (a spicy fish cake) and many more.

The overwater villas

Imagine waking up to the view of the sun rays shining over emerald blue waters with only the sound of the waves lapping against your resort. Staying in an overwater villa is an experience everyone should have at least once in their lives, and you can enjoy that luxury on the Maldives as there are more than 5,000 water villas to choose.

The Glowing Neon Blue Waters

It might sound like something you can only see in movies, but this is a sight you can behold in the Maldives. It’s called bioluminescence (or also called “the firefly effect”) and occurs when the ocean is disturbed; making the tiny phytoplankton emits a neon blue glow. If you want to witness this natural phenomenon, make sure you include Vaadho Island in the places to visit on the Maldives.

The Underwater spa

It’s no secret that the Maldives boasts the first underwater spa in the world, offering visitors the luxury of rejuvenating their mind and their body. Located on the Huvafen Fushi Island, the Lime Spa gives a variety of sensuous massages and home-made treatments while visitors can watch the reef sharks and colourful fish swim by.

The Marine Life

With a wide range of diving sites, Maldives promises an exciting experience when you dive deep into the Indian Ocean to witness the coral reefs, colourful fishes, sea turtles and huge sharks. Anyone who has snorkelled or swam with huge sharks will readily agree that it’s an experience worth having in a lifetime.

While there are many other reasons the Maldives is a sought-after tropical destination, these are some of the most exciting reasons you should visit the Maldives in 2019. So start planning your Maldives holiday and get ready for an unforgettable experience.
